The city wakes up

Bikes come out of the basement. Chains are dry, brakes are stiff. Traffic has already climbed to index 108 as the season begins.

☀️
May & June

Full speed

Everything is rolling now. June peaks at index 181. The streets are full, the days are long. These are the months that count.

July

The city goes on holiday

A surprise. In the middle of summer, traffic drops to index 98. Oslo empties out — people head to the cabin or abroad. Peak season isn't the whole summer.

🍂
September

Second wind

People are back, the weather holds. Index 145. One last strong month before the darkness returns.

December–February

The long winter

The index falls to 28 in January. Only the hardest core still rides — roughly 12,000 people across all of Oslo. The ones who pedal through darkness and slush.

All year

Like an airline

The peak is 6.5 times the bottom. Any seasonal retail business has to think like an airline: earn big in season, survive the low. The whole model rests on this curve.
